Sparklight Awards $5,000 Charitable Giving Fund Grant to CASA of South Central Missouri

CASA of South Central Missouri will enhance training for volunteer advocates through a $5,000 grant from leading internet and mobile provider Sparklight®. Awarded through the Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund, the grant will help fund technology for a dedicated training space, giving CASA volunteers additional tools to serve children and families in crisis.
 
During its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 28 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. By investing in programs that support children and families, address food insecurity, expand educational opportunities and build critical life skills, the funding is helping improve lives and strengthen local communities.
 
“CASA volunteers do incredible work advocating for children who are navigating some of life’s most difficult circumstances,” said Travis Harr, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, North Central. “We’re proud to support CASA of South Central Missouri as it equips these dedicated individuals with the tools and technology they need to advocate effectively for vulnerable children.”
 
CASA leaders say the grant will be directed to a new volunteer training space.
 
“We are grateful for Sparklight’s generous support,” said Jenn Thomas, CASA of South Central Missouri Director of Operations. “This grant will help us create a dedicated space where volunteers can access ongoing training and support, allowing us to better prepare them for the important work of advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Better-equipped advocates mean stronger support for children, more informed advocacy and a greater opportunity for safe, stable outcomes.”
 
Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on initiatives that create lasting, local impact, including education and digital literacy, hunger, relief and community development. Since the Fund’s inception in 2020, Sparklight has awarded more than $1.3 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
 
Nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall. Applications for the fall 2026 cycle will be accepted Oct. 1‒31, 2026.
