Overview: As a Vehicle Specialist at Al West Nissan, your role encompasses various responsibilities aimed at achieving and maintaining the dealership's and Nissan's objectives in new and used vehicle sales. You will work collaboratively within the Vehicle Sales Team, under the direction of the sales & finance manager, to effectively manage your individual sales performance within Al West Nissan's Vehicle Sales Department. 

Comprehensive Duties and Performance Expectations: 

  • Function as a Member of the Vehicle Sales Team: 

  • Work collaboratively within the Vehicle Sales Team under the direction of the sales & finance manager, effectively managing your individual sales performance within Al West Nissan's Vehicle Sales Department. 

  • Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan: 

  • Strategically forecast your efforts and results, collaborating with your team manager to establish desired income goals monthly. Utilize past commissions and bonuses as benchmarks to determine the number of new and pre-owned cars and trucks required to reach income targets. Manage your activities efficiently to maximize outcomes within the designated timeframe, incorporating Al West Nissan’s best practice selling strategies into your approach. 

  • Prospecting and Networking: 

  • Execute approved processes for identifying, documenting, and prospecting your personal "circle of influence (COI)" and referral "bird dog" clients. Aim to grow your COI database and network of "bird dogs" annually, maintaining high levels of engagement to convert prospects into sales. 

  • Service Drive Prospecting: 

  • Prospect on the service drive, identifying potential trade-in opportunities and converting prospects into sales appointments. 

  • Prospecting Current Al West Nissan Owners: 

  • Regularly contact and prospect assigned Al West Nissan owners, striving to generate repeat business, additional household vehicle business, and referral business. 

  • Follow-Up on Unsold Prospects: 

  • Effectively follow up on "unsold prospects," converting them into "be-back" appointments and ultimately closing sales. 

  • Internet Lead and Phone Inquiry Management: 

  • Handle internet leads and inbound/outbound phone inquiries according to approved processes, focusing on setting confirmed appointments. Maintain communication standards and aim for a high appointment show-up rate. 

  • Execute the "Road to a Sale" Process: 

  • Implement the approved Al West Nissan "Road to a Sale" process with both walk-in and appointment prospects, ensuring a high closing rate and delivery success. 

  • Sales Professionalism and Compliance: 

  • Understand and adhere to the principles of salesmanship outlined by Al West Nissan, maintaining professionalism and compliance with dealership policies and procedures. 

  • Team Collaboration and Positive Attitude: 

  • Cooperate with departmental coworkers and contribute positively to sales meetings and dealership outings. Project enthusiasm and professionalism in all interactions, serving as a goodwill ambassador for Al West Nissan. 

  • Customer Perception and Dealership Image: 

  • Ensure that customers perceive Al West Nissan positively and contribute to maintaining an up-tempo and intense atmosphere, demonstrating the dealership's commitment to customer satisfaction and a positive buying experience. 

 

 

  • Communication and Issue Resolution: 

  • Communicate promptly with relevant management regarding any matters requiring attention, fostering a culture of transparency and proactive problem-solving. 

 

Additional Responsibilities for New & Used Nissan Car Salesperson: 

  • Product Knowledge Mastery: 

  • Develop a deep understanding of Nissan vehicles, including their features, specifications, performance capabilities, and competitive advantages. Stay updated on new models, upgrades, and technological advancements. 

  • Demonstration and Test Drives: 

  • Conduct thorough vehicle demonstrations and encourage potential buyers to take test drives to experience the vehicle firsthand. 

  • Financing and Lease Options: 

  • Assist customers in exploring financing and lease options tailored to their budget and preferences. 

  • After-Sales Support: 

  • Provide ongoing support to customers post-purchase, assisting with vehicle setup, features customization, and addressing any issues or concerns. 

  • Vehicle Merchandising and Display: 

  • Participate in vehicle merchandising efforts and maintain cleanliness and organization in the showroom and on the lot. 

  • Market Analysis and Customer Insights: 

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive offerings in the automotive industry. 

  • Continuous Learning and Development: 

  • Proactively engage in training programs and workshops provided to enhance sales skills, product knowledge, and customer service expertise. 

 

Performance reviews will be conducted regularly, with a focus on meeting and exceeding objectives outlined in Al West Nissan's operating and profit plans. Unacceptable performance levels will be addressed promptly to ensure continuous improvement and success in the role.
