South Side Animal Clinic is a holistic and traditional veterinary clinic that focuses on healthy and reliable ways to provide the best possible health care for all of a pet’s needs. We are seeking an organized, compassionate, resourceful, and hardworking individual to join our team. This position allows you to work directly with the public, as well as our staff in providing top quality animal care.
 
Job Title: Receptionist/Office Assistant
Your duties will encompass a wide array of tasks.
 
General Description of Position: This is a full time position where you will be working 30 to 40 hours per work week. South Side Animal Clinic is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Starting pay is $13.50 per hour with potential raises after the 90-day probationary period.
The receptionist is responsible for answering the phones, scheduling appointments, responding to emails from clients and vendors, checking patients in and out, and collecting payment from clients.
 
Job Requirements, Skills & Physical Demand:
 

  • Required to have a high school diploma or an equivalent education level, however at least one year of college is preferred.
  • Provide your own transportation to and from work.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak english fluently.
  • Must have good client communication and telephone skills.
  • Must be able to handle collecting payment from clients.
  • Can handle multiple unrelated tasks simultaneously while working in a busy environment.
  • Adept computer skills being able to proficiantly use programs such as Word and Excel. Words typed per minute should be at least 40.
  • Must be able to work on feet for up to several hours per day.
  • Must be able to listen and then follow all directions given by the business owner/Veterinarian.
  • Professional appearance required, scrubs are to be worn at all times with appropriate shoes (tennis shoes are necessary, no open toed shoes or sandles are permitted.) Any facial piercings should be removed before entering the office. Any piercings on the ears are permitted.
  • Receptionist/Office Assistant will be required to be at work 15 minutes before scheduled time and be on time. All time off is subject to approval of Dr. Wodohodsky (Veterinarian and business owner) by a months notice.
  • Must be able to greet walk-in clients every time someone enters or exits the clinic.
  • Employee must be able to work well independently and in a group.
 
 
 
Upon hiring, all new employees will be subject to a 90-day probationary period during which time employment may be terminated as determined by management. All aforementioned requirements are subject to change by the employer at any time.
