Full-Time Teller

POSITION: Teller II 
Supervises: None 
Department: Retail Operations 
Position Summary: 

  • Processes transactions to bank customers in an accurate, friendly, and timely manner giving our customers a pleasant banking experience. Assist customers by identifying needs and cross selling additional bank products; this includes referring to other lines of business. 
  • Principal Accountabilities 
  • Process Transactions 
  • Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer.
  • Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
  • Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  • Sells cashiers checks, money orders, and other specialized items.
  • Balances cash drawer.
  • Meets or exceeds teller difference standards.
  • Maintains authorized cash supply.
  • Adheres to operational and security policies and procedures.
  • Assists teller supervisor with vault and ATM duties.
Customer Service 
  • Greets customers as they enter the bank.
  • Thanks customers by name.
  • Provides courteous and efficient customer service.
  • Processes transactions quickly and accurately.
  • Ensures customer problems, requests, and other issues are resolved in an effective and efficient manner.
Other: 
  • Handles telephone inquires in a professional and courtesy manner.
  • Assists personal bankers in customer check orders and ATM/debit card maintenance and ordering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Takes initiative by seeking additional duties.
  • Is responsible for all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Assists with mentoring and training of new hires.
Knowledge and Skills Required 
  • Strong math aptitude.
  • Ability to handle the public with professionalism.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to make quick decisions.
  • 10-key calculator experience is strongly preferred.
  • Computer literate.
Education/Training/Experience 
  • A high school Diploma.
  • 3+ years of previous banking experience.
  • Strong typing, oral communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Previous cash-handling experience.
Physical Demand 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; climb stairs, sit, use a computer, talk and hear. Employee may also lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Regular attendance is an essential function to perform this job.
